What Really Helped Me When I Got VERY Sick…
Crohnees,
Now, I’m no doctor, but when I got really sick - this is what I did and what my own G.I. did.
I was originally taken to a regular hospital (local) and had many doctors working on me: my G.I., an infectious disease specialist and even a cardiologist.
I had an abcess and the I.R. specialist at that hospital said “this is un-drainable.” Well, my health got out of hand and it was clear that this hospital could not handle it.
Immediately my G.I. and infectious disease doctor decided to send me to a tertiary care hospital, a University-backed research hospital - I ended up at George Washington Hospital. And, thank god for that.
Within hours of being there, I was assigned THE best I.R. speicalist in the country who drained the abcess in NO time (and laughed at what the other hospital said).
I was also working with one of the best colo-rectal surgeons and G.I. teams in the country. All in all, they took care of me and got me home.
So, if your health is just not improving, think about finding some university backed hospital (a good one) in your area and go pay them a visit - they tend to have the best, most up-to-date doctors (in my OPINION).
Once again, I’m not a doctor and please take nothing I say as medical advice - talk to your docs!
