“A Minneapolis couple who have both battled inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) will embark on a cross-country bicycle ride Sunday to raise funds and awareness for research for the disease. IBD is a collective term for two illnesses: Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Sunday morning, Sam and Laura Kirstein will hop on their bikes in Anacortes, Wash., and pedal across the United States —hitting the Twin Cities on Aug. 20, tentatively — toward the finish line in Portland, Maine, around Sept. 18.”
